Celebrating 6 years of Textrovert

Celebrating 6 years of Textrovert

This is a day to celebrate! It’s hard to believe that it’s been six years since I took the leap and became an independent business owner with my company Textrovert! On this day, 18th April 2017, I officially registered my company. I deliberately chose this date as it is also my husband’s birthday (a memorable date), and now we have two good reasons to celebrate each year.

The idea of starting Textrovert was a dream of mine for many years and I am happy that life pushed me to fulfill my dreams. I started out by offering writing services to clients but very soon Textrovert expanded to being so much more in the area of technical communications. These are the areas and services I have worked on:

  • Communications advisor
  • Marketing strategies,
  • Content, content… and more content
  • Video productions,
  • Podcast host and podcast productions (I’ve produced more than 120 episodes),
  • Events and so much more!

I found out that my passion is conveying technical messages in creative ways and making complex solutions easier to digest. I also get a lot of reward from working on projects with a bigger meaning and impact for my clients. I can honestly say that I’m proud of all the work I’ve done the last six years.

Meaningful projects

Throughout my six years as an independent business owner with Textrovert, I have been lucky to work on many meaningful projects. Recently, two projects stand out as particularly rewarding experiences.

Women in IT

The first project was a podcast series about women in IT. I had the chance to talk to some truly inspirational women in the field of technology, and it was a privilege to hear their stories and insights. The podcast series is in Danish and  I’ve written a summary in English:

The dark side of data

The second project that has been especially meaningful to me was a podcast production that involved speaking with several organizations involved in the fight against child sexual exploitation online. I had the opportunity to talk to the NC3 department in the Police, Save the Children Denmark, CISO at Tryg and Netclean, amongst others. Through these conversations, I gained a deeper understanding of the issue and the work being done to combat it. It was humbling to see how dedicated these organizations are to protecting children and to hear about the progress they have made in this fight.

You can listen to the podcast (in Danish)

Chapter 2

It’s projects like these that remind me why I started Textrovert in the first place – to make a positive impact through storytelling and technology. I’m grateful for the opportunities that I’ve had and look forward to continuing to work on meaningful projects in the years to come.

Are you dreaming of running your own business?

After starting out on this journey on my own and setting up my own company, I’ve heard from so many who are considering taking the same leap. To those individuals, I encourage you to take the jump and I can highly recommend the independent business life. It’s incredibly rewarding to be in charge of your own destiny and to have the freedom to pursue your passions.

But as in all other things in life there are also some down sides to this choice. There can be tough times and worries that come with running your own business. It’s important to have a strong support network, to remain focused on your goals, and to stay committed to your vision. It’s not always easy, but with hard work, determination, and a little bit of luck, anything is possible.

Looking ahead I’m excited about the future of Textrovert and the possibilities that lie ahead. I have so many ideas for new projects and adventures where several are already setting sail.

Thank you to all of my customers, partners, family and friends for your support and for being a part of my journey. Here’s to six years of growth with Textrovert and to many more exciting years to come!
